The Bureau of Utility Operations in conjunction with the Office of Finance provide the capability for citizens and business to pay their utility bills online using a credit card or e-check.

Convenience Fees

The following Convenience Fees are assessed when you utilize the County's Online Bill Payment Application:

 

Utility Bills

(Water & Wastewater, Front Foot Assessments, Installment Agreements)

Tax Payments and Other Departments

(Real Property, Personal General Billing)

$3.25 per transaction

2.39% of transaction total

Anne Arundel County uses Paymentus Corporation, a third party bill payment service for utility, real estate tax, personal property tax, and general billing online payments. Paymentus Corporation accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, eCheck, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay. All Paymentus Corporation payments are subject to a non-refundable convenience fee for each transaction.
 

FAQ

  • Why is there a convenience fee?
    Paymentus Corporation charges a non-refundable convenience fee to use their service. The fee covers payment handling and processing charges.
  • Does Anne Arundel County receive any part of the convenience fee?
    Anne Arundel County does not receive any portion of the convenience fee. Paymentus Corporation is an independent company providing a service for the County.

In Person:

  • Payments to the County can be made at any of our cashier locations.
     
  • Additionally, non-cash payments (checks and money orders) can be made at any time in the yellow drop boxes at these same locations.
     
  • Real Estate Tax bills, Personal Property Bills, Front Foot Assessment bills and Utility bills are mailed with a self-addressed courtesy envelop. Please use this envelope to make payments by mail and be sure to include the bottom portion of the bill in the envelope along with your check or money order.
