The ongoing COVID-19 situation has created disruptions with curbside collection, resulting in service delays of up to 48 hours.
Please know that Public Works Staff are aware of all communities experiencing delays and are monitoring them closely to ensure collections do occur. We ask that you leave your material at the curb until contractors are able to complete their routes.

The Bureau of Waste Management Services is responsible for the curbside collection of trash, recycling of residential solid waste from 168,000 customers and the management, maintenance, oversight, and preservation of the Millersville Landfill. Waste Management Services also oversees the Northern, Central, and Southern recycling centers, as well as special programs like Household Hazardous Waste events and Bulk Collection.

Recycling, yard waste and trash are collected once a week. Each material, trash, recycling, and yard waste, is collected by a separate truck. Although the trucks all look similar, recycling and yard waste trucks are marked with recycling symbols.
Note:If you have moved into a community currently served by the curbside program, you do not need to contact the County to start service at your new residence.

Please review the list of Materials Accepted that maintained on the Waste Management website to determine the appropriate method/place for disposing of items.
Note: Curbside Collection must be scheduled for some large items. Bulk items requiring advance scheduling will be indicated on the list of Materials Accepted.
